Laboratory Investigations / Physical Model Testing

CWP Engineering has extensive experience in undertaking and supervising 2D & 3D physical model investigations for coastal engineering applications. Physical modelling investigations are often required and recommended to verify and, if possible, optimize the design of coastal & marine structures.

This is particularly relevant when the marine components are characterized by complex structural configurations and / or are subject to specific site conditions (waves, currents, etc.).

CWP Engineering typically recommend the physical modelling works be undertaken in the most recognized European laboratories (e.g. HR Wallingford, Danish Hydraulics or Delft Hydraulics).

Our team assists the clients in the following tasks:
• Preparation of physical modelling specifications and tests method statements prior to the onset of the investigation;
• Management and supervision of the laboratory team during the execution of the tests;
• Preparation of comprehensive interpretative reports including a full and detailed methodology, results, analysis, conclusions and recommendations
